Match chest or bust in cm to S, M, L, XL for t-shirts and casual shirts. Men's Medium is about 96 cm chest; XL about 106 cm (≈ EU 52 / neck ~40) on our letter table. Dress shirts often use neck × sleeve—see that section below.
How to measure shirt size
- Chest (men) / Bust (women): Wrap the tape around the fullest part. Keep it level; breathe normally. Note centimeters—this is the main match for tees and casual shirts.
- Neck (dress shirts): Wrap around the base of the neck where the collar sits. Leave a little ease so you can button without choking. Note cm or inches—this is the number many dress-shirt tags use (for example 38, 40, 42 cm).
- Sleeve (dress shirts): With the arm slightly bent, measure from the center back of the collar, over the shoulder, down to the wrist bone where the cuff should end—or follow the brand's sleeve notes.
- Waist (optional): Useful for fitted or button-down shirts—measure at the natural waistline.

Shirt size 38, 40, 42 — XL or XXL?
When the tag is a men's neck in cm (common on dress shirts), use this map from the same table above. It is not women's EU dress size 38/40/42.

What dress shirt size means
Casual tees usually stop at letter sizes. Many men's dress shirts add neck and sleeve numbers (inches or cm). Those numbers are not the same system as women's EU dress sizes.
- Neck: circumference at the base of the neck (leave room to button comfortably). On our letter table, XL often sits near neck ~40 cm.
- Sleeve: typically center back of the collar to the cuff end—follow the brand's measuring notes.
- Letter vs number: XL ≈ EU 52 / chest ~106 cm on this chart is a starting map; a tag like 16 / 34–35 is a collar×sleeve label—confirm on the product chart.
- What size dress shirt am I? Measure neck and sleeve (steps above), then pick the closest collar × sleeve on the brand chart. Use chest cm if the shirt is sold only in S–XXXL letters.

XXXL shirt size (numbers & cm)
